The dimensions and weight of luggage allowed in the cabin and in the cargo hold vary from one airline company to another. Here is a list of what some companies do allow, and our recommendations for avoiding unpleasant surprises at the check-in counter. Make sure you bring a travel suitcase padlock or strap and possibly invest in an easy to carry and practical electronic baggage scale.
CHECKED BAGGAGE
The product criteria defines the number of bags each passenger is assigned. For the U.S. and Canada, two bags per person are allowed, each not to exceed 32 kg in business and 23 kgs in economy and 158 cm in overall size (height + width + depth). Air France - KLM Iberia, have amended their regulations. Whatever the type of franchise (by weight or number of bags) the bag must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches). An extra fee is applied if your bags are oversized. This extra charge depends on the destination and you should check the rates with Air France-KLM before departure. For example an oversized bag between 158 and 203 cm to the United States will be charged € 300 in extra fees. Do also keep in mind that depending on your travel class, you may be afforded more weight allowance. Again, it is best to check with the airline company before arriving at the check-in counter if you are unsure of your limits.CARRY ON BAGGAGE
